Is she aware that the LTTE has used every ceasefire to rearm and carry out further attacks on innocent civilians of all ethnicities? Does she know that there are nowhere near 250,000 civilians in rebel held areas and currently there are actions to stop armed terrorists from bleeding into highly populated districts from their limited combat zone. A new CSZ has been created from where organized evacuation operations utilizing military personnel has and will continue to occur.

Inaccurate and blatantly false reports about this CSZ as well as the former CSZ have actually been floated by LTTE operatives in an area that is adjacent to the zone, where terrorist continue to strike at military and civilians. The correct figure for the civilian population was 112,000 prior to humanitarian missions in the Wanni. In the last weeks 40,000 persons have been registered at IDP centers and estimates are that another 40,000 have relocated to other areas prior to the localizing of the current military operations. Healthcare, shelter, freshly prepared meals, facilities, education are all being provided for IDPs

Considering how the LTTE has wedged themselves in between 2 civilian groups. These are some of the many reasons that Sri Lanka will not allow terrorist to use civilians as human shields and have taken a strong stance that prior to full disarmament and revocation of the use of terror tactics that a ceasefire will not occur.


Our political solution does not give rise to further restructuring terror organizations. It is democratically and civilly based on restoring franchise rights and inviting all parties that have now disavowed terror tactics to participate
