How do you protect yourself against false accusations? Share a similar story?:?

My husband was the victim of a false accusation, ending up in a drawn out court case, a day in jail, and him having to plead ';no contest'; to something he didn鈥檛 do, just to keep the case from going further. All this stress over someone just saying he said something.. no physical evidence, no video, audio, nothing. This makes me think anyone can say anything and someone can go to jail. How do you protect yourself against something like this? Does it only affect people who ';look'; scary? Or on the flip side, can only people that look weak and fragile get away with authorities believing them? I just don鈥檛 understand. There are things that make me think this might happen again, i want to know a way to stop it. We have taken ourselves out of the situation where we are even near these people harassing us. The way our system works, and based on events that have taken place: What鈥檚 to say these people just want to screw with us and call their police and say my husband did something? How do you protect yourself against false accusations? No contest is not ';not guilty';.

By pleading this out he is now looked upon as guilty.

No it's not fair, but if he truly believed in his innocence he should have took it to trial.

You can't protect yourself from this. In our society you are only as protected as your pocketbook allows. It sucks.

Sorry hun. Bless you.How do you protect yourself against false accusations? Share a similar story?:?
Wrong place wrong time? Take it to trial? Why do you think it would happen again?? Perhaps you all need to move
As far as a similair story, my tale cannot be told, hence the incriminating factors involved. I've been subject to many false accusations, and all are a haunting presence in my life. Your husband is lucky to have someone at his side during said trauma. I think that looks cause many folks problems. Look at racism....The color of ones skin putting him or her under ill-repute. If someone wants to cause you grief, and have half a leg to stand on...they will stand, hop, whine, cry, and scream bloody murder in order to have their way. To look weak and fragile as opposed to looking intimidating are two seperate poles, one being used in accordance with safety, the other being used in accordance with power. The trick is knowing when to look the way you need to to make everyone happy. Kinda makes me wanna get a swear word tatted on my forehead. Which one should I choose? DO NOT ALLOW OPPRESSION TO BECOME A DOMINEERING FACTOR IN YOUR LIFE!
U kno what?? I actually was in a similar situation with being falsely accused, and almost set up, but the only thing he can do is fall off the radar. Document everything, and try to have proof of your whereabouts, so that if those people try to do it again, if your husband chooses to go to court, he has proof that the people are lying. good luck!!!!
