Ins't it shameful the Kennedys lobotomized their daughter and then spread the false story she was retarded?

I think in those days they miss diagnose what the woman was suffering from and at the time the doctor's thought it was the best thing to do in her case they use to do a lot of lobotomies I hear back then to solve all kinds of problems and they were wrong to have this one done also!Ins't it shameful the Kennedys lobotomized their daughter and then spread the false story she was retarded?
From the time Rosemary was born, she was 'different' or 'slow' compared with the other Kennedy children. They loved her but she could not keep up with their conversations about politics or things like that. As she got older, she also had terrible mood swings and today might be diagnosed as bipolar or something.

Lobotomy was not unheard of in those days. It was not they had her lobotomized and then spread a story she was 'retarded', it was that when she was young, families who had children with disabilities were often ashamed and kept as quiet about it as possible. After her surgery, she apparently could not care for herself and was put into an institution. Hopefully today, neither thing would be done, the surgery or institutionalizing a disabled person, especially when a wealthy family could care for her or afford home care.Ins't it shameful the Kennedys lobotomized their daughter and then spread the false story she was retarded?
Lobotomies were used mainly from the 1930s to 1950s to treat a wide range of severe disorders, including schizophrenia, clinical depression, and various anxiety disorders, as well as people who were considered a nuisance by demonstrating behavior characterized as, for example, ';moodiness'; or ';youthful defiance';. The patient's informed consent in the modern sense was often not obtained. After the introduction of the antipsychotic chlorpromazine (Thorazine), lobotomies fell out of common use and the procedure has since been characterized ';as one of the most barbaric mistakes ever perpetrated by mainstream medicine';.

The point is, medicine was not advanced during that period, and lobotomy was considered a contemporary cure for mental illness. And, therefore it was not the fault of anybody, but LIMITED medical knowledge of the 1930s to 1950s!
She was mildly retarded, and doctors of the day thought that a lobotomy would help treat some of her problems. Medical care in the past was quite different than it is today.
It's it shameful that you come on here with such a disgusting lie.
Yep - it would have been a good idea to give Joe the Papa a vasectomy at puberty
-And You've been Institutionalized for HOW long..? :o
Isn't it shameful that you're spreading such junk?
