Why hasn't the left fabricated negative stories and false rumors about McCain during this campaign?

It's the old saying that blacks and women have ';we have to work twice as hard for half the credit/pay and get twice the blame when something goes wrong.';





McCain has done many things wrong, but no one says anything. Obama gets crucified for everything he does. McCain has the Keating scandal, but Obama has Ayers? Obama has Wright, but McCain had Hagee.





The worst of all is the Khalid Rashidi thing. Obama knows him - barely- to the tune of $75000, but McCain knows him to the tune of $440000...and that's only the beginning of what we know about that relationship.





So, you can clearly see that going negative against McCain is pointless. The hypocrisy and double-standards prevent it. It just makes Obama the ';angry black man'; if he dares to even assert himself. He's playing the hand he's been dealt.Why hasn't the left fabricated negative stories and false rumors about McCain during this campaign?
Maybe because the people on the Left feel the campaign should be about issues that really matter and not about crap. If you notice, Obama's campaign has been almost exclusively about McCain's record and his policies. He hasn't taken any shots at McCain's anger issues, he hasn't mentioned any of Palin's ';scandals'; - including the State Trooper issue. And Obama was the one to say Palin's family was off limits when it came out that her daughter was pregnant.





In contrast, look at how much time the McCain campaign has spent talking about Bill Ayers and other Obama associations. Look at how much emphasis they have placed on the Joe the Plumber encounter and labeling Obama a socialist.





And the thing that really gets me about this is knowing McCain doesn't feel comfortable with all this negative bs. When asked direct questions about Obama McCain is usually complementary and even bats down the worst of the criticisms.

I would like to pretend that the left is above such things, but they are not. If the tables were turned and Democrats had needed to run negative campaign to have a chance, they would have run one. Plus, it's not that simple to make up stories about a guy who has been in politics for nearly 30 years and is well known. Obama is an easier target.

I find it very ironic that more than half of the conservatives repeat the same trash talking rumors over and over again. If they don't like Obama, that's fine they are entitled to their opinion. They shouldn't however, base their opinion on slander and stupid comments. They want to talk about how blind the masses are that are voting for Obama, yet how much of McCain's campaign has been based on trash talking Obama? That is where McCain messed up in my opinion.

obama is an idealist while mccain is a pretender.
No need, Obama hasn't had to resort to those types of tactics because he actually has a sensible plan for getting our country out if it's financial mess and restoring our place in the world.
