If I believe one Bible story is false?

I have tried to make sense of the Noah's Ark story in the book of Genesis and I simply cannot force myself to believe that it makes any sense (I know...call me a sinner). Does my not believing one story of the Bible make the entire Bible false for me or can the one story be dismissed while the rest of the Bible is upheld? If I believe one Bible story is false?
Your problem is that you try to look at it literally. Look for the meaning behind it, if anything. If I believe one Bible story is false?
In the story of Noah, reading it as an allegory, the sign of the rainbow is God's promise that he will not destroy everyone in a flood (natural disaster) because of their wickedness. Every natural disaster that you see is not necessarily a sign that God is angry as some people may superstitiously think. You may be able to draw out other pearls of wisdom.

Think it through. Some people say that if you interpret the bible literally it does not make sense. They also say if you interpret the bible allegorically it does make sense.

Other people say that it can only be interpreted literally to make sense.

Read the bible for yourself and decide which group appears to be telling the truth and join them.
Well, actually it is true, but, yeah, there is not enough info in the regular bible to get the whole story.

Get the book of Jasher, and find other Apocryphal books and you will understand the story.

an FYI to go along with the other books: the Ark contained over 1.5 Million cubit feet of space. Using the approx. size of the box cars I use to load, it would take over 520 boxcars to hold all the ';stuff'; that you could put into the Ark.
It gives you a significant problem. If you don't believe that part of the bible is true, you're clearly doubting that the text is divinely inspired by a perfect creator.

Many people however seem to ignore (or re-translate) bits of the bible they find uncomfortable, so you could always do that as well.
Does my not believing one story of the Bible make the entire Bible false for me or can the one story be dismissed while the rest of the Bible is upheld?

A) If you find one thing on the internet that is untrue, does that mean everything on the INTERNET is untrue?

B) Noah's Ark is NOT an important piece of the Bible. You can toss out Genesis, heck you can toss the Old Testament if you have to.

The IMPORTANT part of the Bible is JESUS. That's what it is ALL about. The whole bloody thing is all about the Cross and the Resurrection. Jesus is Lord. John 3:16. That's it. THAT's the POINT.

How long Creation took doesn't matter, and neither does Noah, or much of anything else in the O.T. What matters is the Gospels.

Go with that.
Denying one part of the Bible is indeed like denying the rest.Timothy 2, 3:16 says. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness
uhm you could sit down and think about it and try to find differnt meaning i think christianity i sjust a way to live life im ntochirstan but thats what iget ut of it you dont have to belive a book thta was made up thousands of years ago either.
There is a lot of stuff in the old testament that is not meant to be taken literally. Example: the 40 days and 40 nights that appears several times. It's actually just another way of saying ';for a long time';.
Have you heard of the hydroplate theory? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lhabP7-F鈥?/a>

(hope this helps)
I found that after I dismissed those parts of the bibles I couldnt make sense of I was only left with the front and back cover.
Ignore it like the song of songs.
I also think some stories are a little far fetched..But i do think also they have a hidden message in them .Kinda like metaphors...
it dosnt matter if it dosnt make sense BELIEVE IT OR BURN!!!!
pick and choose like everyone else

or stop reading before you start to question more of the stories
just wait till ya get to the talking donkey
