What do christians think about the bible? Its true, its false, its a story, etc. what do they think?

When I was a christian, I didn't think about it much. Every time I did, I'd notice contradictions, but my training throughout childhood helped me stay ignorant to my cognitive dissonance. Eventually, the rational part won out. But while I was a christian, I didn't think about it or read it much except for the good parts that didn't contradict one another, and the parts that everyone emphasizes. What do christians think about the bible? Its true, its false, its a story, etc. what do they think?
';All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be thoroughly furnished unto all good works';.What do christians think about the bible? Its true, its false, its a story, etc. what do they think?
For a Christian the bible is true. It is our road map in life, our answer all questions about our life, and the story of the life of our Savior Jesus Christ. Daily study of the Word of God is necessary for our growth in faith and in the Spirit.
The Bible is always theologically true, although some parts of it are not factual in a historical or scientific sense. It is a collection of many types of literature written by many people over hundreds of years. Parts of it are history, parts are parable, parts are prophecy, parts contain moral codes and ethical rules, parts are holy poetry.
Could such texts be inspired by God!

Noah: getting drunk and naked in front of his sons. See Genesis 9: 20-24.

Aaron: making a golden calf to worship. See Exodus 32: 3-4.

Solomon: worshiping false gods, to please his large harem. See 1 Kings 11: 9-10.

David: committing adultery. See 2 Samuel 11: 4-5.

Lot: committing incest with his two daughters. See Genesis 19: 31-36.

These are great prophets!!!!!
God Almighty revealed Taurah, Zaboor, Injeel, and Qura'n to Prophets, Moses, David, Jesus, and Muhammad (Peace and blessings of all Mighty on all of them).

These books are true and deserved to be highly respectful.

Unfortunately man did alterations in early Scriptures according to their own limited wisdom and these scriptures corrupted now.

Since Prophet Muhammad, is the last and final Prophet in the long series of Prophets, and Qura'n is the final testament, God Almighty took responsibility to save this final scripture from corruption and alteration.

1400/1500 years past, if you pick any Arabic copy of Qura'n from any Muslim house hold from any corner of the world, you will not any deference cover to cover, in this Holy Book.

It is true, it is the word of God written by men whom God spoke to.
It is sacred. Its not only true but it is the only way of living and dyeing let what may happen.
There are so many different kinds of Christians that it would take months to answer this question. Not only does every different group of Christians see the Bible differently, nearly every individual person has a different view on it. And on top of all that, you have many different versions of the Bible, which are you referring to?
Answer #1 absolutely and this: the Bible is the only book that is alive. Read it and it will change your life, your thoughts, your very innermost being. It is not only a wonderful instruction book for living and an answer book for life's problems, it is holy words from God Himself inspired to people who faithfully wrote them down.

Imagine being able to communicate with the Master of the universe, the One Who placed the stars in space, created the earth and formed us out of the earth, then put His own breath and Spirit into our bodies!

We can do this through study of the Bible and prayer.

So that is what this Christian, or ';follower of Jesus'; thinks about the Bible. It is a great gift to mankind from God Himself.
I think it's a great guide to live by. I believe there is truth in it, but there is to many contradicting story's in it. I use it as a guide to live by.
I always find it amusing how atheists state God did not write the bible. Not with his own hands, but he did inspire prophets to write down accounts of miracles and history blood line of Jesus in the old testament. Almost everyone in old testament had lineage leading to Christ.

I read someone Else's answer about the prophets and their sins. God knows no one is perfect. History written in the raw, even skeletons in the closet. Makes me feel like if God chose these men for his purpose even with their flaws, then He'll notice me for my purpose.
